When Life gives you Lemons…

TravelBella loves a sunny escape! Last September as summer was soon becoming a hazy happy memory we took a trip to the ever-popular Croatia for some sunshine, culture and relaxation with our little travel bambino and baby bump. This beautiful country ticks all the boxes for a great get-away… it has history, natural beauty, a splendid climate and now, perched on the edge of the island of Brač like a dazzling diamond to counterbalance the Pinterest-favourite beach of Zlatni Rat on the north of the island, stands the dazzling Hotel Lemongarden. This pretty boutique hotel is European charm, grace and beauty at it’s finest – it is the Audrey Hepburn of hotels… refined elegance and natural beauty deliciously combined. The heady scents of the lush gardens draw you in to the palm-fringed pool all surrounded, of course, with pretty lemon trees.

Brač is a little island South of Split – an easy 2-hr flight from London. It is worth staying a night in this medieval city, exploring it’s ancient walled streets and if a fan of Game of Thrones you may spot some of the filming locations. An easy ferry-ride across to Brač the Hotel Lemongarden is a short drive from the ferry terminal in the picture perfect village of Sutivan – limited to a few charming dining spots, a spatter of fabulous gelato stands (remember how close we are to Italy!) and a bike rental (free bikes to Lemongarden guests). We took bikes (with baby seat for bambino) along the pretty shoreline stopping in the white pebbly bays for dips in the turquoise crystal clear water. The Lemongarden has it’s own private beach and they will golf cart you there and back (baby and all) at your request. The hotel is the shining star of Sutivan – it’s simply gorgeous. The pool area is surrounded by the most exquisite of Instagram-worthy gardens and the tranquillity and privacy affords you to feel like you are staying in a private villa. This also applies to the rooms where Missoni rugs (“Please be careful with that banana bambino!”) and other perfect touches adorn the suites – all unique and luxurious to a fault. The restaurant needs it’s own story and will get one. This is the full package… you simply can’t go wrong and you simply will go back!
