Stopping by for some afternoon tea…

When it’s cold outside there is no excuse to stay indoors… wrap up warm and go for a wintery walk, especially on a crisp Winter’s Day with a clear blue sky. Hampstead Heath in north London is the perfect place for a Winter’s Day walk as it is a vast yet alluring space with clear views of the city and a natural, rustic feel that only adds to it’s charm. Walk up to Parliament Hill for some of the best views in London and then head to Kenwood House for some culture and Afternoon Tea. Kenwood House is a house full of history and it also has an incredible collection of fine art – one of the best collections in the world. You can find a rare Vermeer or a Rembrandt self-portrait, as well as glorious Gainsboroughs and impressive Turners. It is a rare treat to come across such a grand house and superb art collection whilst out strolling! The house has recently been restored and thanks to the fantastic English Heritage it is also free to visit! Finish off with afternon tea in the Old Brew House located in the grounds and if you would prefer to wait for the summer months there is ice-cream and Pimms served in the grounds. Follow off your day with a dip in the Hampstead Heath ponds, although best save this for a Summer’s Day!
