Food fit for a Russian Princess in London’s Soho…
If a button on your table that says ‘Press for Champagne’ doesn’t scream decadence then I don’t know what does! Eating at Bob Bob Ricard evokes a feeling of dining in glamour at the turn of 20th Century Russia. You feel like you should have worn a luxurious fur wrap and be dripping with jewels – even for lunch at this popular Soho restaurant. The opulent interior is stylish and alluring, in spite of the elaborate gold and pink decor, vast mirrors, table lamps and plush green curtains it is not over-the-top yet is a cosy ambience that is not intimidating in the slightest. As you are tucked away in your booth sipping on pink champagne and deciding between Chicken, Mushroom & Champagne Pie and the Chateaubriand for One perhaps it is also time to indulge in oysters and cavier, both of which are reasonably-priced on the menu. But be sure to save room for what is perhaps the most sumptuous dessert on any menu in London – the BBR Signature Chocolate Glory – a case of crisp gold-coated chocolate enveloping a rich chocolate jivara mousse, crunchy chocolate brownie and meringue with a refreshing addition of passionfruit orange jelly – melted down with a hot chocolate sauce that is poured in front of you by your white-gloved waiter. To eat at Bob Bob Ricard is to experience London’s fantastic food scene at it’s best. With a luxurious yet comfortable decor, first-class service and a delectable menu you can’t help but feel a little spoiled here, why even the dessert feels like a dish prepared for a Russian Oligarch’s Birthday! So put on your most glamourous outfit and have a few hours of pure, unadulterated decadence!
