Taking in the Vibe at Venice Beach…

I love LA. The city has so much going on and you can experience the different pockets of the city and they vary hugely! Get dressed up and stroll down Rodeo Drive Pretty Woman-style followed by a cocktail at the Beverly Wilshire, put on your best beach chic and head down to Malibu for brunch and bubbles on the beach and get dressed down and hang out at Venice Beach. Venice is such a great area of LA, the long sandy beach complete with palm trees and deep blue waters for swimming, paddle-boarding, surfing and the life guard towers famous from their Baywatch days all make it a great escape from the city. Venice itself has a fun and laid-back vibe, with such an eclectic mix of people and things to see and do… from the tattoo parlors to sand sculptors and musicians lining the boardwalk, surfers, skate-boarders and the buff bodies at the famous Muscle Beach, it is part flashback of 80s & 90s TV, part festival, part circus! There is also Abbot Kinney which has become somewhat of a trendy hot spot. Try to hit up one of the street markets on Abbot Kinney, otherwise be sure to check out the unique selection of stores, restaurants and cafes. You won’t find a CVS Pharmacy or Starbucks here but you will find incredible smoothies (at Kreation) and the only ‘chain’ store is Toms Shoes, in fact I think he started out from here so maybe that doesn’t even count! So leave your car at home and enjoy strolling around Venice and Abbot Kinney, it’s one of the few places in LA where people won’t look at you like you are crazy for walking and you can dress down and relax here, it’s just got that vibe…
