Coming face-to-face with Nature in Stunning Sydney…

Making friends at Taronga Zoo

Making friends at Taronga Zoo

One of the highlights from my trip to Sydney was hopping on a ferry from Circular Quay to Taronga Zoo. The ferry ride is just over 10 minutes but also doubles-up as a scenic boat trip as you look back across the harbour and enjoy the sunny blue skies! After experiencing the city life in Sydney it was the perfect escape and Taronga Zoo surpassed all of my expectations. The setting itself is beautiful and hidden away on a lush part of the bay, the views as you explore the zoo look back over the pristine blue waters and the jutting skyline of this major city. I especially loved the location of the giraffes and their heads seemed to pop up inbetween the skyscrapers of Sydney – it is a unique zoo setting but also manages to give the animals plenty of green space and you don’t feel that they are cooped up in cages. The animals are in large enclosures that mimic their natural habitats and as you watch the seal show or cuddle up to a zoala you can’t help but see that zoos are a wonderful thing. Giving children and adults the chance to see the magnificent creatures of our world close-up whilst protecting them in a comfortable environment. Taronga Zoo has so much going on that you could easily spend all day there and with the wonderful climate and the easy access between the zoo and city centre it is the perfect day out!
