Enjoying a Cloudless Sky at Cloud Gate in Chicago…

Not a cloud in sight at Cloud Gate, Millennium Park in Chicago

One of the most fantastic cities in the United States is Chicago, every time TravelBella visits it gets even better! There is so much to see and do in this landmark city located on the edge of the great Lake Michigan. Not only are there superb museums, galleries, shops (check out Michigan Mile!), restaurants and hotels but the city is perched on the edge of beautiful Lake Michigan and in the summer months there are beaches and palm trees (to my absolute surprised delight!). One of my favourite spots in Chi-Town is the Millennium Park. This huge space located off Michigan Mile is a great spot to relax after wearing out your credit card in the shops or wearing out your feet checking out all the sights the city has to offer. Perhaps one of the most popular sights within Millennium Park is ‘Cloud Gate’, more commonly known by locals as ‘The Bean’, this famous sculpture was created by British artist Anish Kapoor and is a great spot to see all year round, although beware the icy cold winters here, it can be absoluterly freezing in winter (and it can be sweltering hot in the summer!) – you have the beach close by in the summer for cooling off and an ice-rink and plenty of hot chocolate nearby for warming up in the winter! Chicago really does have it all!
